3S Business Builder takes you step by step from your readiness check, through Ofsted, to your first 90 days open. You get a 1 to 1 call with your 3S coach every week for 12 months, and you can stay with us after that.

This is about children's lives. Nobody pays before they're accepted.
You've read the guidance. You've saved the links. You've got notes everywhere. And you still aren't sure what comes first. That's not your fault. Nobody hands you the order. 3S Business Builder does: one stage at a time, in one place.
Most plans get written once and left in a folder. Yours updates at every stage. When you settle on your area, your property and your team, your plan keeps up.
Every week you get a 1 to 1 call with your 3S coach, for 12 months. When you submit work, your 3S coach signs it off within 2 working days.
Before you go live, the mock inspection stage gives you a practice inspection, with questions and scoring. You find the gaps while there's still time to fix them, not on the day.
For your 12 months, you get full access to 3S Academy, every level, free. So the training is there for you and your team while you build your home.

Setting up your home: property, staff, Ofsted fees and other setup costs are yours to pay. We talk these through with you during your application and first interview.
No automatic cooling-off period. This is a business purchase and a 12 month coaching package, so there's no automatic right to cancel or get a refund. If something serious happens, talk to us and we'll look at it case by case.
After 12 months: mentorship carries on if you want it, at £499 a month, rolling. It's optional.
Paid separately: the costs of setting up your home, such as property, staff and Ofsted fees. Social Bridge and Reg44 Checks visits are extra too, and only if you choose them.
So we're careful about who we work with. 3S only works with people who will bring real value and help children.

3S Business Builder is part of 3S Academy. It was built by Michael Jeffs, Liam Wharton and Dave Hayes.
Has worked in children's homes since he was 20. Started as bank staff, then worked his way up as a residential support worker, senior, deputy, manager and dual manager. Multiple Outstanding inspections in homes he worked in and managed. Has opened multiple children's homes and supported living services, and is a qualified life coach.
Followed a very similar path to Michael. Started as bank staff, then worked his way up as a residential support worker, senior, deputy and manager. Has worked in children's homes for years, and has been involved in Outstanding inspections. Has personally opened children's homes alongside Michael.
Has worked in children's homes with many different kinds of care, from learning difficulties to working with families. Worked his way up to managing children's residential and multi-bed homes. Has been a Responsible Individual and a head of compliance in the children's home sector, and is a certified trainer.

Because this is about children's lives, and it has to be taken seriously. 3S only works with people who will bring real value and help children. You fill in a detailed application form. It asks who you are, your history, your experience, and why you want to get into the sector. We review it. If it goes forward, you'll have full DBS checks and a two-stage interview. You only pay if you're accepted.
Most clients are ready to apply to Ofsted in around 5 to 6 months. After that, Ofsted sets its own timescale. If your home meets Ofsted's priority criteria, it usually decides within 6 months, so most priority homes open around 9 to 18 months from sign-up. If not, your application joins Ofsted's waiting list, and Ofsted can't give a date. What we can promise is a clear path, a call with your 3S coach every week, and every document and Ofsted answer ready when you apply. Your work is signed off within 2 working days, so we're never the thing holding you up. And we support you right through the Ofsted wait and your first 90 days.
